Water Conservation Rebate Program
Water conservation is the practice of using water efficiently to reduce unnecessary water usage. According to the FreshWater Watch, water conservation is important because fresh clean water is a limited resource, as well as a costly one. America’s population has doubled over the last half-century, and our demand for water has tripled. Water conservation is more important than ever, and the world is looking for tips on saving water. The great news is that with just a few simple changes, you can reduce your water footprint.
Implementation of water conservation programs throughout Texas has resulted in a body of knowledge through which best management practices (BMP) have been adopted. These BMPs are structured for delivering a conservation measure (or series of measures) that is useful, proven, cost-effective, and generally accepted among conservation experts. In Texas, water conservation BMPs are designed to fit into the State's water resource planning process as one alternative to meet future water needs. Each BMP structure has several elements that describe the efficiency measures, implementation techniques, schedule of implementation, scope, water savings estimating procedures, cost-effectiveness considerations, and references to assist end-users in implementation
The majority of household water use comes from toilets, washing machines, showers, baths, faucets and laks, but what you can do to save water is fairly simple. These water-saving tips will result in less water usage and less money from your pocket.
